About book
WHAT’S THE BOOK ABOUT?
I’m himlain.
I’ve gone all the way from ‘oh, I can’t do this’ to ‘I know exactly how to do it.’
This book is NOT about learning to draw ‘like me.’
It’s about overcoming the fear of a blank page, understanding the human head from the inside and outside, and learning to shade along the form — not just fill in areas.
What you’ll get:
– A foundation from which your own style will grow.
– An understanding of shading, anatomy, volume, and composition.
– A starting point if you’re a beginner — or a new level if you already draw.
The book includes theory, practice, and step‑by‑step exercises — everything to make the material truly feel natural in your hands.
Form, volume, structure, perspective.

ALREADY BOUGHT THE BOOK
The blank page used to paralyze me. Himlain’s book explained the essentials: how the head is built and why shading must follow the form. I stopped being afraid and simply started doing the exercises. Within a week I drew my first sketch I genuinely liked.

I thought I could draw, but my work always looked flat. This book took the rose‑colored glasses off — it showed me exactly where I’d been making mistakes for years. Shading, volume, understanding anatomy — everything finally clicked. For the first time, I feel real progress instead of standing still.

No fluff — just theory, practice, and exercises. It organized the chaos in my head. Shading along the form and understanding volume transformed my drawings. The best foundation for starting and growing.

HOW TO USE THIS BOOK? (IMPORTANT)
Don’t just read with your eyes. Draw. Do every exercise immediately. Don’t postpone it for ‘later.’ Draw in a separate sketchbook and write the date. In a month you’ll notice progress. And remember: mistakes aren’t shameful. I’ve made thousands of them. You’ll make your own. And that’s wonderful.
